KSOEHD's annual NASA Pre Service Teacher Institute is being planned for June 8-20th, 2008.   The Institute will meet at the NASA, Ames Research Center in Mountain View. The Institute will be staffed and operated by the National Institute of Aerospace in partnership with Nextel. The partnership has an instructional team that will work in several NASA locations this summer. The curriculum integrates science, math and technology, with heavy emphasis in technology for pre-service multiple subject students.  Students will receive a stipend, free room and board for the week at NASA Ames Research Center, free licenses for some outstanding fee-based on line educational sources and access to Nextel technology. Each student team will develop an on line lesson plan based on a common problem/theme, integrating math and science. Twenty-four (24) pre service teachers who are juniors or beyond, but have not started student teaching will be enrolled. Applications are competitive, since more than 24 students are expected to apply.
