The Commission on Teacher Credentialing is
offering new openings in the Fresno/Clovis Paraprofessional Program
offered in partnership with California State University, Fresno.
However, the time-line for participant selection is short.
The Paraprofessional Program offers assistance with tuition and
books for classified employees in positions that provide direct
instructional services. The intent of the program is to increase the
number of paraprofessionals who qualify to teach subjects and grade
levels where qualified applicants are in short supply (such as
special education, math and science). Participants commit to
teaching locally for the number of years they receive program
support. Although substantial financial assistance is provided, it
may not cover all educational expense.
Participants become part of a cohort and attend professional
development one Saturday per month. Additional support is provided
through the Office of Teacher Recruitment in the Kremen School of
Education and Human Development. Participants must have 60 units or
more of college credit and qualify for admission to California State
University, Fresno.
